A Margor Majerum

I do not like this syrah.  Just thought I’d get that out of the way first so we can have a free and open discussion.  I like the nose.  Just don’t like anything else.  Darkish ruby with clear edges.  Big, warm, rosy nose which breathes off into some really great, crisp briar, cola, licorice.  Fat entry–just massively bland in its rotundness and lack of fruit.  Obesity, glycerol and alcohol is all I get in the mouth, really disappointing after that fabu mineral bouquet.  This thing just disappears off into the bloated sunset riding alcohol and mild tannin.  Thin and bitter in the finish, with more match-heads and broken stems.  Not undrinkable, by any means–just awkward and unbalanced.  No ABV on label and I am going to guess 14-7 printed and 15-2 reality.  ♦
