You Had Me At Sin

Lively med ruby with thin pink edges.  Clean nose of fresh fruit–almost Gamay-ish in its brightness and focus, stunningly yeasty and briary and at the same time beautiful and bright.  A stewed Strawberry dominates, but the tarry creepings of this variety are apparent in the background.  Sausage and EVOO and a crushed-rock backbone playing against the rapidly fattening fruit.  Fairly flabby and lifeless in the mouth, a disappointing reality against all the Euro-fruit promises of the bouquet.  With heavy air, it explodes into a mineralific symphony.  Bitter finish.  A very fun little wine.
