Clear ruby with pink edges. Roiling mud sullies the nose into thinking this will be bombastic. Intense dry floral, pork fat and dried saliva in fat layers on cold granite slabs has me charmed into expectations of wracked concentration, but it is not to be.
In the mouth, everything leans out beautifully, casting copious fruit in all directions against shrill walls of acid. Breath-takingly bright, turgid with virve and the burn of youth, all over a sexy smoked peat that begs raising the glass over and over.
What a ridiculously fun wine. I have to admit it pleases FAR above my expectations. 13point OH, boys & girls. The fact I am a huge bauhaus AND Bauhaus fan has no bearing on this opinion, I PROMISE. An absoloute BLAST to drink.
