Beautiful transparent garnet all the way through with fairly bricking edges. Bright nose, bright and clean like falling water, mountain spring water with a little sweat and shrubbery so bright and fresh almost not like red wine at all except for the black cherry and almost volatile vanilla, cardoman and ripe pear. A most peculiar wine on the tongue. Pinot-ish in its lightness, carignane-ey in its charred fruit and petite-sirah-ey in its inescapable jarring tannin. I’m guessing this is mostly Nebb, but without any of the annoying reduction and concentration of its more popular cousins. This is a wine that is contemplative and sincere, but which I could see myself in a pub or café downing GALLONS of. Leave it to @lastbottlewines to bring me up to speed on this #Roero thing.
