We Could Be Royals

A tiny slip of clear rims flourescent purple. Lily, rose, spit and rock tell you everything needs to be questioned while fat Concord grape and rhubarb pie tell assure you everything is right in the world.

Valdiguie is a variety I have worshiped for 30 years and you’d have to live in a cave not to know it is hot, hot, HOT right now. I predicted this last year and now every Tom, Dick & Harry winemaker is piling on. And THANK THE LORD!!! I mean–come on, it doesn’t get any better than Valdiguie. Zinfandel has ruled as *America’s grape* for HOW many years? But this is a new generation and tastes are changing. ‘Napa Gamay’ represents far better the palate of The New California Wine drinker (please don’t sue me Jon Bonne).

Bright blue stupidly good nectar weaned on acid and stretched across soil sing a magnificent chorus of tangy brilliance, dusky smoke and strawberry in places of your mouth you never knew existed.

Oh man. I DARE you to dislike this wine. It’s just a song in a glass.
